Le mois dernier, James Vincent McMorrow nous avait offert, <a title=\"L'avis d'Emilie Paul\" href=\"https:\/\/www.horsdoeuvre.fr\/musique\/concert-agnes-obel-james-vincent-mcmorrow\">en premi\u00e8re partie du concert d\u2019Agnes Obel<\/a>, de <strong>superbes ballades folk d\u00e9nud\u00e9es, br\u00fblantes et intimistes <\/strong>qui m\u2019avaient transport\u00e9e. En studio, le chanteur n\u2019a pas os\u00e9 une telle mise \u00e0 nu\u00a0: sa <strong>voix sensuelle<\/strong>, feutr\u00e9e et d\u00e9licate s\u2019entoure en permanence de ch\u0153urs ang\u00e9liques, ses arrangements, s\u2019ils sont tr\u00e8s inventifs, tiennent un peu trop \u00e0 distance, par pudeur peut-\u00eatre, les \u00e9motions. Et c\u2019est finalement cette retenue, cette fragilit\u00e9, cette sobre m\u00e9lancolie, \u00e9voquant parfois Nick Drake, qui m\u2019a particuli\u00e8rement touch\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>A trop vouloir planer entre deux mondes, rester hors du temps, \u00ab\u00a0to protect us from the madness of the future still to come\u00a0\u00bb (\u00ab\u00a0This Old Dark Machine\u00a0\u00bb), James Vincent McMorrow aurait pu nous perdre dans son cheminement \u00e9th\u00e9r\u00e9.
