Pour preuve, son dernier avatar en date, <b>United Sounds of Joy<\/b>, tout en m\u00e9lancolie pop post gothique. Mais n&#8217;allez pas vous m\u00e9prendre, l&#8217;emploi du mot \u00abgothique\u00a0\u00bb prend ici son sens le plus noble et le plus intimiste\u00a0: entrelacs de soie t\u00e9n\u00e9breuse, \u00e9chos vrombissants se perdant dans un d\u00e9dale tristement chatoyant, voix d\u00e9licate et lointaine. D\u00e8s le premier titre, <i>Seams of Sorrow<\/i> (traduction\u00a0: les coutures de la douleur, on ne peut pas \u00eatre plus clair), le ton est donn\u00e9.<\/p>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<figure id=\"post-13079 media-13079\" class=\"align-none\"><\/figure>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.horsdoeuvre.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/united-sounds-of-joy.jpg\" alt=\"United Sounds of Joy\" \/>\r\n<figcaption>United Sounds of Joy \u00a9 Lawrence McCarthy<\/figcaption>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<p>Bien que l&#8217;on reconnaisse imm\u00e9diatement la patte de Sheehy dont les albums en solo* gardent depuis ses d\u00e9buts cette tonalit\u00e9 sombre et l\u00e9nifiante, United Sounds of Joy est pourtant un projet r\u00e9alis\u00e9 <b>en duo<\/b> avec son ancien acolyte du d\u00e9funt <b>Dream City Film Club<\/b>, <b>Alex Vald<\/b>. \u00c9couter l&#8217;album s&#8217;apparente \u00e0 une sorte de voyage sid\u00e9ral, une errance en apesanteur autour d&#8217;une <i>Wounded Moon<\/i>, en qu\u00eate d&#8217;\u00e9toiles aussi obscures que l&#8217;amour.<\/p>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<p>Pulsations lentes, doucement hypnotiques, on est loin du blues iconoclaste de <b>Miraculous Mule<\/b>, \u00ab\u00a0l&#8217;autre\u00a0\u00bb groupe de Sheehy o\u00f9, \u00e9paul\u00e9 par son fr\u00e8re Patrick MacCarthy et le batteur Ian Burns, il s&#8217;improvise pr\u00eacheur d&#8217;un bayou volontiers suicidaire o\u00f9 r\u00f4dent fant\u00f4mes vaudous et Night Trippers. L&#8217;un n&#8217;emp\u00eachant pas l&#8217;autre, bien au contraire, on peut m\u00eame affirmer que les deux groupes sont compl\u00e9mentaires.
